I think I mentioned earlier that Bieber doesn’t enjoy eating cake. This does not stop me from baking. Anyhow he enjoys tennis, so a few years back I made a tennis gateau. Due to the non-cake eating birthday boy, I made white and milk chocolate dipped strawberries and bought chocolate wafers and chocolate tennis racquets from Perfection to give him something to nibble on whilst we all scoffed the chocolate gateau.
What’s the difference between stock standard cake and a gateau you ask? Gateau is the french word for cake, but is now generally used to describe a delicate cake with lavish toppings. That pretty much sums up my tennis gateau. The cake was a mousse, mud and ganache layered affair, in dark chocolate, naturally.
As you can see from his scary smile and double thumbs up, Bieber loved it.
